Creating an interactive common space was the goal of this 1990s traditional kitchen remodel. Removing an oversized divisional pantry, built-in refrigerator alcove and the soffit opened up the space for optimal flow. The space incorporates painted KraftMaid cabinets, staggered to create interest and depth and accented with contrasting antique bronze knobs and pulls. Seven-inch, multi-step crown molding with braided detail adds the richness throughout the space. Giallo Ornamental granite countertops were chosen for the natural beauty of stone and their durability. The mahogany floor, in a mocha finish, enhances the warmth of this inviting space. The kitchen’s new design allowed for dual wall ovens, as well as dishwashers on either side of the sink. Completing the room is a kitchen bar with glass-front cabinets and a wine refrigerator.
